Job summary

Onterris is seeking a Senior Field Service Technician based in Portland, ME to lead complex field engineering tasks, perform O&M on environmental equipment, and coordinate with clients and project teams. The role requires strong troubleshooting abilities and travel up to 75% to project sites.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of mechanical/electrical troubleshooting, HAZWOPER and NFPA70E training, and a valid Class C license. Proficiency in MS Office and independence are essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of mechanical/electrical troubleshooting, environmental collection, monitoring, sampling and basic evaluation.
• Must possess a valid Class C driver’s license with a clean driving record and reliable transportation for travel to project and job sites.
• NFPA70E Training or willingness to complete.
• Ability/willingness to travel up to 75%.
• HAZWOPER certification (40-hour) and annual 8-hour refresher.
• Must lift up to 50 pounds with or without assistance.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office software.
• Able to interface with cross-functional teams and all levels of personnel/management.
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
• Solid organization and time/project management skills.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills, legible handwriting.
• Able to work independently and manage multiple responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Leads and independently performs complex field engineering and technical activities, including equipment inspections, startup and commissioning support, fabrication progress evaluations, vendor audits, and data collection.
• Serves as a technical lead in the field by coordinating with clients, contractors, vendors, and project teams to ensure compliance with project specifications and safety requirements.
• Performs operations and maintenance of environmental treatment equipment including pumps, filters, tanks, and other process units.
• Collects samples using various methods and operates field monitoring equipment (PID/FID, pH, EC, DO, etc.).
• Measures and records treatment data, prepares field reports and data sheets.
