Job summary

Intertek Building & Construction in Westminster, Colorado, seeks an Environmental Staff Scientist/Engineer/Geologist with 8+ years of experience to support the Environmental department in Phase I/II ESAs, surveys, and site assessments. The role involves fieldwork, report preparation, and coordination with clients and subcontractors.

Travel may be required up to 25% of the time; strong data evaluation and reporting skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Geology, or related field.
• 8+ years of proven technical environmental consulting experience with project management/coordination.
• Experience with soil/groundwater/vapor sampling, data evaluation, and report preparation.
• Experience managing field teams and drillers.
• Experience managing projects under regulatory programs (e.g., VCUP, OPS).
• Client communications and management experience.

Responsibilities

• Support all environmental services including Phase I/II ESAs, asbestos and lead-based paint surveys, indoor air quality assessments, UST/LUST assessments, site remediation, soil and groundwater sampling, and field observation documentation.
• Assist in scope development, report preparation, client and subcontractor coordination, and assessment of proper response actions.
• Manage and perform Environmental Site Assessments following applicable ASTM standards.
• Participate in installation of soil borings, monitoring wells, remediation activities, waste management and disposal, and other field requirements.
• Author technical reports and proposals.
• Support project planning, monitoring, and budget control while building relationships with clients and team members.
