Job summary

Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) in Austin seeks an experienced Engineer to join the Water Supply Division and contribute to protecting Texas' water resources. You will conduct engineering reviews, provide technical assistance, and support wastewater programs.

This role emphasizes data analysis, reporting, and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, with standard business hours and opportunities for professional development within a state agency.

Qualifications

Wastewater system design, maintenance, and operations evaluation.
Wastewater quality, chemistry, microbiology, or treatment processes analyses.
Preparation of reports and recommendations for technical and non-technical audiences.
Experience working with wastewater systems.
Handling large data sets for scientific processes and technical guidance.

Responsibilities

Conduct in-office and on-site engineering reviews and quality control of information to ensure regulatory compliance.
Provide engineering assistance related to wastewater system requests through verbal, email, meetings, and on-site visits.
Support internal and external customers with wastewater program guidance and PIR responses.
Provide training and mentoring; serve as SME for assigned topics.
Participate in projects, SOP ownership, guidance document development, and process improvements.
