Job summary

TRC Companies, Inc. in New York City seeks a Senior Civil/Environmental Engineer/Project Manager to lead design work on environmental projects and manage budgets for regulatory submittals. You will collaborate with dynamic project teams and deliver high-quality engineering documents.

The role emphasizes health and safety, maintaining billable hours, and cross-selling TRC services while developing new business opportunities through technical proposals and client relations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Environmental or Civil Engineering or related field.
• 5-10 years experience with civil/environmental engineering/consulting firms.
• Experience with stormwater management design, permitting, and inspection in New York State and New York City.
• Skills in budgeting, scheduling, procurement and coordination of internal teams and subcontractors.
• Technical project expertise in environmental investigations, remediation, environmental compliance.
• Experience preparing and reviewing technical documents, reports and engineering designs, ensuring quality and consistent delivery of materials.
• In-field experience performing stormwater compliance, SPCC plan, and Hazardous Waste Contingency Plan inspections, and environmental remediation work.
• OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification, including current annual refresher, and 8-hour HAZWOPER Supervisors certification.
• Have strong communications skills, both written and oral.

Responsibilities

• Lead and perform design work.
• Develop and track multiple project budgets, scopes and schedules for regulatory submittals and other consulting documents.
• Work well with dynamic project teams.
• Perform Quality Analysis/Quality Control of deliverables related to projects and tasks managed, as well as projects and tasks managed by others, and are responsible for implementation of the firm's quality procedures at project and task levels.
• Prepare and review technical documents, reports and engineering designs, ensuring quality and consistent delivery of materials.
• Develop a rapport and positive relationship with our clients and employees.
• Prioritize health and safety.
• Maintain a billable hour utilization target.
• Work to cross-sell TRC services and increase business.
• Identify and develop new business opportunities, develop technical and cost proposals, and deliver responsive, high-quality services.
