Job summary

Verdantas is seeking a Senior Associate to lead Phase I/II environmental site assessments and related remedial work in Southern California. You will mentor a talented EAR team, manage client relationships, and drive project delivery with a focus on safety and quality.

You will collaborate with the Practice Line Leader and Environmental Assessment and Remediation team to shape innovative solutions and sustainable outcomes. This is a growth-focused role within Verdantas’ people-first culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Geology, or similar Environmental Engineering with relevant professional registration/certification (e.g., California Professional Civil Engineer).
• At least 8 years of experience in environmental subsurface investigation, with 5+ years in project management, staff supervision, and client interaction.
• Deep understanding of Federal, State, and local environmental regulations and requirements.
• Exceptional technical writing, oral communication, presentation, and time management skills.
• Ability to design field sampling programs, remedial design and implementation, manage multiple subcontractors, and interpret complex data.
• A reputation for delivering quality services and the ability to attract new clients and business.
• A proactive approach to liaising and advocating for clients with environmental regulatory agencies.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team to achieve project goals.
• Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to meet budgets and schedules.
• Adherence to our health and safety policies and procedures.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office®.
• Willingness to travel regionally for short periods of time

Responsibilities

• Lead Phase I/II environmental site assessments, including PEAs, RAWs, RAPs, remedial design, and risk assessments.
• Prepare accurate estimates, proposals, and schedules for projects.
• Foster strong client and regulator relationships through effective communication.
• Oversee subsurface investigations and remediation to keep projects on time and budget.
• Provide expert peer reviews to maintain high-quality deliverables.
• Mentor and train team members to support growth and success.
