Job summary

Air Products and Chemicals, Inc. in Gonzales, LA is seeking a Senior Environmental Engineer to lead environmental compliance programs across air, water, and waste media.

You will coordinate permitting, reporting, and program development while supporting operations and projects in a growing industrial landscape. The role requires strong regulatory knowledge, excellent communication, and ability to train facility teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Science; Chemical Engineering preferred.
• Approximately 5–7 years of environmental regulatory compliance experience across multiple media.
• Experience with Louisiana DEQ permitting and compliance programs preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and improve environmental compliance programs across air, water, waste, and related media.
• Develop and optimize compliance tools, monitoring, and testing programs.
• Train facility personnel on permit requirements and regulatory obligations.
• Prepare and submit environmental reports to local, state, and federal agencies.
• Develop permit strategies and coordinate permitting activities for projects.
• Lead or participate in root cause investigations and corrective actions.
