Job summary

Wilcox & Barton, Inc. seeks an experienced Senior Environmental Engineer / Geologist with an active New Hampshire PE or PG license to lead complex environmental projects across Northern New England.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in environmental consulting.
• Active Professional Engineer (PE) or Professional Geologist (PG) license in New Hampshire.
• Strong technical experience in environmental site assessments, subsurface investigations, remediation, and regulatory compliance.
• Familiarity with NHDES, EPA, and applicable Northern New England environmental regulations.
• Experience with Brownfields redevelopment and contaminated site programs.
• Demonstrated project management, budgeting, and client relationship management capabilities.
• Strong technical writing, communication, and organizational skills.
• Experience mentoring staff and leading multidisciplinary project teams.
• Business development experience and an entrepreneurial mindset preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead environmental investigation, remediation, and redevelopment projects throughout New Hampshire, Vermont, and Maine.
• Manage complex projects involving environmental site assessments, subsurface investigations, contaminated soil and groundwater, and regulatory compliance.
• Oversee project quality, budgets, schedules, deliverables, and client expectations.
• Prepare and review technical reports, proposals, work plans, and regulatory submissions.
• Serve as a technical advisor to clients, regulatory agencies, and project teams.
• Develop new business opportunities and maintain strong client relationships.
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers, geologists, and environmental scientists.
• Collaborate with our civil engineering, environmental, and geotechnical practices.
• Support the strategic growth and development of our environmental consulting practice throughout Northern New England.
