Job summary

CDM Smith in Colorado Springs seeks an experienced Environmental Engineer (Level 5) with a strong emphasis on cost estimating to lead detailed estimates for remediation and civil projects across planning, design, and construction.

You will use MCACES, MII and advanced Excel models, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, support value engineering, and provide risk analysis and validation to guide decision-making. Travel required up to 10% and PE license is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, or Chemical Engineering with PE license.
• 7 years of related experience.
• Experience in environmental remediation and cost estimating.
• Travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Lead preparation of detailed cost estimates for environmental remediation and civil projects.
• Develop estimates during feasibility studies and design phases.
• Prepare estimates to support budgeting, authorizations, and bids.
• Use MCACES, MII, and Excel-based tools to generate defensible estimates.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate design elements into cost models.
• Participate in value engineering to optimize project delivery.
• Provide cost risk analysis and validation to support decisions.
• Support construction phase activities including change orders and cost tracking.
