Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a highly experienced Environmental Engineer (Level 5) in California to lead cost estimating for complex environmental remediation and civil projects. You will develop detailed estimates across planning, design, and construction, using MCACES MII and Excel-based tools, and collaborate with diverse teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental or Chemical Engineering; PE license preferred.
• 7 years of related experience; travel may be required.
• Equivalent additional directly related experience considered in lieu of a degree.

Responsibilities

• Lead preparation of detailed cost estimates for environmental remediation and civil projects.
• Develop estimates during CERCLA and RCRA feasibility studies and life-cycle evaluations.
• Prepare estimates to support budgeting, project authorization, and bids.
• Use MCACES, MII and advanced Excel models to generate defensible estimates.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate design into cost models.
• Participate in value engineering to improve cost efficiency.
• Provide cost risk analysis, assumptions and estimate validation for decisions.
• Support construction phase activities including change orders and cost tracking.
