Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Senior Environmental Engineer to develop and execute site-specific air permitting strategies across SpaceX sites. You will interpret federal and state requirements, track new regulations, and coordinate with regulators and engineering teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in a relevant field.
• 5+ years in air permitting design and execution under federal/state requirements.
• Master’s degree preferred in environmental management or environmental engineering.
• Expertise in Clean Air Act, NSPS, NESHAP, PSD, and Title V.
• Experience permitting at complex sites and engaging regulators (e.g., TCEQ).
• Strong written and verbal communication; ability to handle technical data.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute site-specific air permitting strategies.
• Plan for changes in facilities, reviewing equipment and programs for permitting.
• Serve as SME on the Clean Air Act; interpret requirements across jurisdictions.
• Track and interpret new/federal/state air regulations and provide guidance to teams.
• Conduct internal air compliance audits and support inspections.
• Coordinate and manage contractors for permitting and testing; maintain reports.
• Develop relationships with regulators at federal, state, and county levels.
• Collaborate with engineering teams and leadership across sites.
