Job summary

PBF Energy is seeking a Sr. Environmental Engineer for our Toledo Refinery in Oregon, OH. You will lead air permitting, emissions monitoring, and MACT compliance while guiding regulatory reporting and program development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemical, Environmental or related Engineering field required.
• Experience with federal air regulations (PSD/NSR, CAA, NESHAP, MACT) required.
• Minimum of 8 years’ experience in environmental, refining, petrochemical or chemical industry preferred.
• Excel and MS Office proficiency required.
• Knowledge of Ohio and US EPA work processes preferred.
• Initiative to work with minimal oversight and in a team environment.
• Strong interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills.
• Basic understanding of refinery operations and environmental reporting requirements.

Responsibilities

• Oversee refinery air permitting, compliance, emissions monitoring, and MACT reporting.
• Serve as SME for Title 5 Air Operating Permit negotiation and implementation.
• Coordinate with regulatory agencies and trade groups on rulemakings.
• Develop compliance programs for new regulatory initiatives.
• Support regulatory inspections, data collection, and reporting.
• Collaborate with refinery Business Teams and other internal/external groups.
• Review MOC’s, participate in safety audits, and train personnel on environmental topics.
