Job summary

Geosyntec Consultants, Inc. is seeking a Senior Environmental Data Manager to oversee environmental data systems and workflows across Oakland, Walnut Creek, Davis, or Sacramento.

You will combine chemistry data expertise with database automation to deliver accurate, accessible information for multidisciplinary projects. The role requires extensive experience in relational databases, ETL, and data visualization, with EQuIS experience preferred.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in relational database technology or equivalent.
• Experience managing databases and ETL development.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel and Access with data visualization.
• Ability to write complex SQL queries and automate processes.
• Experience scripting with Python or R.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Attention to detail across quantitative work and writing.
• Experience with EQuIS environment data management (preferred).
• Driver license with satisfactory driving record (required).

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and manage project-specific relational database apps using SQL Server and EQuIS.
• Create documented workflows and metadata to automate data integration and delivery.
• Manage environmental datasets across data lifecycle from collection to reporting.
• QA/QC for data, systems, and processes.
• Compile, verify, analyze, and report large, diverse datasets.
• Coordinate with labs, consultants, agencies, and data providers.
• Transform, query, and analyze environmental analytical and geospatial data.
• Deliver data-visualization solutions for environmental and geoscience projects.
• Drive personal and company vehicles to project sites as needed.
