Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking an Environmental Engineer (Level 5) with a strong emphasis on cost estimating to lead detailed estimates for remediation and civil projects across planning, design, and construction. The role requires developing budgets, evaluating remedial options, and integrating technical designs into cost models using MCACES MII and advanced Excel tools.

Candidates should have a Civil/Environmental/Chemical Engineering degree, a PE license, and about seven years of related experience;

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental or Chemical Engineering; PE license.
  • 7 years of related experience; travel may be required.
  • Experience with environmental remediation processes and site methods.
  • Proficiency with cost estimating tools and documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Lead preparation of detailed cost estimates for environmental remediation and civil projects.
  • Develop estimates during CERCLA/RCRA feasibility studies and decision-making.
  • Support budgeting, project authorization and contractor bid evaluations.
  • Use MCACES MII and advanced Excel models to produce defensible estimates.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate design into cost models.
  • Participate in value engineering and risk analysis for cost optimization.
  • Provide cost validation and support during construction activities.
