The Metropolitan Council Environmental Services (ES) division leads environmental compliance programs for the Twin Cities region, operating nine water resource facilities. This Senior Environmental Scientist role develops strategies, manages permits, coordinates with operations and engineering, and ensures daily adherence to evolving wastewater regulations.

Formación

• Master's degree and three (3) years of professional-level experience in a scientific field related to the position.
• Bachelor's degree and five (5) of professional level experience in a scientific field related to the position.
• Associates degree and seven (7) years of professional-level experience in a scientific field related to the position.
• High School diploma or GED and eight (8) years of experience in professional-level experience in a scientific field related to the position.

Responsabilidades

• Lead key environmental compliance programs for Environmental Services (ES).
• Develop and implement practical program strategies; manage permits and regulatory obligations.
• Work with plant operations, engineering, and field staff to embed compliance in daily work.
• Prepare and submit required plans and reports; conduct field verification and site coordination.
• Develop tools and guidance that strengthen the Compliance Management System and data-driven decision making.
• Track and interpret new regulatory developments and help plan for future limits and treatment needs.
• Represent ES in discussions with regulatory agencies and regional partners.
