Job summary

Godshall Recruiting seeks an environmental compliance subject matter expert in Charleston, SC to guide regulatory requirements and best practices across remediation, waste management, transportation, and disposal activities.

You will partner with project managers, operations, estimating, safety, and leadership to address compliance during planning and execution, assess regulatory risks, and develop procedures, training materials, and resources to strengthen organizational consistency.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in environmental compliance, remediation, hazardous waste management, or environmental services.
• Strong knowledge of RCRA, DOT, CERCLA, HAZWOPER, and related environmental regulations.
• Experience interpreting regulations, managing environmental projects, and supporting compliance initiatives.
• Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the organization's environmental compliance subject matter expert, providing guidance on regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
• Interpret federal, state, and local environmental regulations related to remediation, waste management, transportation, and disposal activities.
• Partner with project managers, operations, estimating, safety, and leadership teams to address compliance considerations during project planning and execution.
• Assess regulatory risks and recommend practical solutions that support project success and minimize liability.
• Develop procedures, guidance documents, training materials, and compliance resources to strengthen organizational consistency.
• Manage environmental projects and provide senior-level support on complex or regulatory-sensitive initiatives.
