The ideal candidate has 5+ years in casualty underwriting with strong analytical and relationship-building skills, and is adept with underwriting software and data analysis. Travel for territory activities is expected.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in underwriting casualty lines (General liability, Worker’s Comp, Commercial Auto, Excess Liability).
• Pollution experience preferred but not required.
• Strong analytical and decision-making skills for complex risks; tailored solutions.
• Expertise in risk assessment, pricing, and portfolio management.
• Establish relationships with brokers—retail and wholesale.
• Proficiency in underwriting software and data analysis tools; MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Solicit, analyze, and underwrite new and renewal business for various casualty lines.
• Evaluate data to determine coverage terms and pricing; assess exposures.
• Prepare and issue indications, quotations, and binders promptly.
• Track pipeline activity and provide weekly production forecasts.
• Build and maintain strong broker and client relationships for service excellence.
• Collaborate with team members and departments to meet company objectives.
• Monitor account performance and recommend improvements as needed.
• Stay current with industry trends, regulations, and policy forms.
• Participate in marketing and sales meetings within territories, including travel.
