Job summary

Cypress Creek Energy is seeking an Environmental Affairs professional to support development of solar and energy storage projects across the U.S. The role involves advising on environmental diligence, permitting strategies, risk mitigation, and regulatory compliance throughout the project lifecycle.

The candidate will engage internal teams and regulators, lead consultants, and help shape programmatic environmental policies while supporting financing and operations teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering or related field.
• Experience interpreting federal and state environmental laws (ESA, NEPA, CWA, NHPA).
• 5+ years in environmental permitting and/or compliance in Northeastern or Central U.S. markets.

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead environmental permitting strategies for diverse energy projects in the U.S., focusing on PJM and MISO markets.
• Oversee regulatory compliance processes and environmental studies (wetlands, ESAs, cultural resources).
• Conduct environmental due diligence for development and M&A opportunities.
• Coordinate with local, state, and federal agencies (USFWS, USACE, SHPO).
• Review technical reports (Phase I ESAs, wetland delineations, species surveys) and advise on findings.
• Support financing with responses to comments from Independent Engineers and legal counsel.
