Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Senior Acoustical Consultant to support our environmental noise, vibration, and acoustics practice in the U.S. Gulf/Mountain regions. You will collaborate with scientists and engineers serving clients in energy, data centers, transport, and federal markets, from concept through post-construction.

The role offers a hybrid schedule with two days in the office and opportunities to lead projects, mentor junior staff, and contribute to proposals. Travel will be occasional.

Qualifications

• Experience in environmental acoustics/noise assessments is required.
• Experience with acoustic measurement practices, software, and instrumentation is required.
• Experience with acoustical modeling software (CadnaA preferred) and tools like spreadsheets, GIS, AutoCAD.
• Experience in managing multiple projects in a client-facing role is required.
• Experience reviewing environmental regulations and permitting requirements is required.
• Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite, specifically Word, Excel, and Outlook, is required.
• Willingness and ability to travel periodically for field work, including multi-day trips to various locations within the United States, is required.
• Experience with natural gas pipeline and compressor station noise studies preferred.
• Strong work ethic, high ethical and quality standards, and a desire for team success.
• Strong written and verbal communications skills.
• Experience as a manager with direct reports is beneficial.
• Experience with vibration, underwater noise, transportation noise, and building acoustics is beneficial.
• Familiarity with Matlab/Python is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Manage noise/acoustics projects from proposal to completion, delivering projects on schedule, and within scope and budget.
• Supervise junior staff and contribute to training in field work, analysis, modeling, and report preparation.
• Conduct and oversee staff completing field measurements, technical analyses, modeling, and reporting.
• Analyze and interpret acoustical modeling results, evaluate noise mitigation measures, and document the results of acoustical analyses.
• Present at public meetings and appear as expert witness for acoustics projects.
• Contribute to project proposals by developing task scopes and cost estimates.
• Maintain professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations.
