Job summary

Enbridge is seeking a Sr Advisor Environment to lead environmental assessment, permitting, and compliance for major energy infrastructure projects across the United States. You will collaborate with internal teams, regulatory agencies, and outside experts to ensure responsible planning and execution from the ground up.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in environmental, physical or biological sciences, engineering, or related Environmental, Health and Safety and Emergency Response field.
• Minimum 6 years’ experience in relevant environmental applications. For candidates without a university degree, an additional 3 years (9 total) are required.
• Ability to comprehend diverse regulatory, scientific and technical issues.
• Ability to connect with a wide variety of people including employees, all levels of management, regulatory agencies, consultants and contractors.
• Ability to coordinate and write clear documents and correspondence to various audiences.
• Must be able to work independently and coordinate environmental consulting professionals or service providers.

Responsibilities

• Oversee environmental reviews, surveys and permitting for maintenance and capital projects; establish compliance systems and provide resources.
• Provide direct support to Engineering, Construction Services, Business Development, Law and others across project phases.
• Develop environmental awareness, training and outreach materials to support planning and implementation.
• Participate in agency outreach, public meetings and open houses as required.
• Develop post-project monitoring approaches and procedures for major projects.
• Geographic responsibility may span all U.S. locations and act as a subject-matter contact.
