Job summary

Enbridge is seeking a Sr Advisor Environment to lead environmental assessment, permitting, and compliance for major energy projects across the U.S. You will work with internal teams, regulators, and external experts to drive sound environmental decisions and sustainability through all project phases.

The role requires coordinating with Engineering, Law, and Business Development, and may involve nationwide travel. A Bachelor’s in a related field and 6+ years of environmental experience are needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in environmental, physical or biological sciences, engineering, or related Environmental, Health and Safety and Emergency Response field.
• Minimum 6 years' experience in relevant environmental applications. For candidates who do not possess a University degree, an additional 3-years of related experience is required (9 years).
• Ability to comprehend diverse regulatory, scientific and technical issues.
• Ability to connect with a wide variety of people, including employees, all levels of management, regulatory agencies, consultants, contractors, and those we serve.
• Ability to coordinate and write clear documents and correspondence to various audiences.
• Must be able to work independently and to coordinate and prioritize activities involving environmental consulting professionals or service providers, including environmental waste specialists or providers.

Responsibilities

• Oversee environmental reviews, surveys and permitting for maintenance and capital projects.
• Establish systems for regulatory compliance, develop procedures, provide mentorship and resources.
• Provide direct support to Engineering, Construction Services, Business Development, Law and others for all project phases.
• Develop and coordinate environmental awareness, training and outreach materials.
• Participate in agency outreach, public meetings and open houses as required.
• Develop post-project monitoring and follow-up plans for major projects.
