Job summary

Avanade Inc. in Houston, TX is seeking a Senior Enterprise Tech Architect to lead the Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) practice and drive digital transformation initiatives that enhance customer experience and optimize costs.

You will guide architecture, oversee 10+ developers across onsite and remote teams, mentor engineers, and ensure engineering excellence through TDD, CI/CD, and solid documentation. Travel up to 80% to client sites.

Qualifications

Requires at least a bachelor’s degree in a software-related field.
At least seven years of experience as a software developer or technical architect in IT consulting.
7 years of development with Microsoft technologies including .NET, SQL, HTML, CSS, and JSS.
6 years with Sitecore products (XM Cloud, Content Hub, etc.).
6 years of experience with Solr, Coveo or similar search solutions.
6 years of DevOps, CI/CD, and enterprise deployments.
4 years of leading Sitecore implementations.

Responsibilities

Manage Digital Marketing client engagements.
Lead all phases of the software development lifecycle — estimation, design, implementation, documentation, testing, deployment, and support.
Lead the design, architecture, development, testing, and deployment of AEM Web and Mobile solutions.
Collaborate with clients, designers, product owners, developers, system administrators, project managers, business analysts, and end users to build a cutting‑edge Digital Platform using Adobe’s Digital Marketing Product Suite.
Ensure engineering excellence by promoting Test‑Driven Development, Continuous Integration, and comprehensive documentation.
Implement strategies based on business needs, long‑term objectives, and creative design.
Provide technical guidance to AEM developers on best practices for both front‑end and back‑end development.
Perform hands‑on coding when necessary, along with architectural input on server environment configuration, clustering, caching, CDN usage, and security.
Lead project teams of 10+ AEM developers across onsite and remote global locations.
Contribute to collateral development for efficient AEM project implementation.
Travel to client sites (domestic) up to 80% of the time.
Must live within reasonable commuting distance of Houston, TX.
