Job summary

Northern Technologies Group is seeking an Information Technology Subject Matter Expert - Enterprise Storage & Backup to support the health, sustainment, and modernization of government customer storage and backup environments.

The role provides technical guidance, vendor evaluation, optimization, documentation, and training across on-premises and cloud environments on NIPRNet and SIPRNet, while supporting system administration, system security, ticketing, and change management.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting DoW or Federal enterprise storage environments.
• Hands-on SAN management including zoning, iSCSI, and NAS.
• Experience with Cohesity DataProtect and NetBackup for backup/restore.
• Ability to design, implement, and document storage solutions.

Responsibilities

• Assess and modernize enterprise storage and backup capabilities with vendors and best practices.
• Provide MIS guidance, risk assessments, and contingency planning.
• Develop as-built docs and train storage personnel; prepare security and vendor reports.
• Administer storage and backup infra, manage policies, outages, and vendor support.
• Apply updates and DISA STIG configurations; support audits and certifications.
• Resolve SNOW tickets and incidents; maintain status reporting and docs.
• Participate in on-call rotations and provide 24/7 outage support when needed.
• Support travel for disaster recovery and continuity activities.
