Job summary

Brooksource seeks an experienced Senior Enterprise Security Application Developer to join a Fortune 500 Energy & Utilities client’s team in Charlotte, NC. You’ll work on BEAR Enhancements, collaborating with Firewall Compliance to ensure security, data integrity, and regulatory compliance.

The role is hybrid (3 days onsite in uptown Charlotte) with a pay rate of $60-$70 per hour on a W-2, for a 1-year contract with strong extension or potential full-time hire.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 10+ years of application development and support experience.
• Strong SQL background with DBA familiarity.
• Proficiency in C# and Python for data tasks.
• Angular GUI development and JavaScript skills.
• Experience with RESTful APIs and complex data stores.
• Familiarity with firewall policies or networks.

Senior Enterprise Security Application Developer

W-2 only. No Corp-to-Corp or 1099 arrangements. Successful candidate must be able to work on W-2 without visa sponsorship both now and in future.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Brooksource is seeking an experienced Application Developer to join our Fortune 500 Energy & Utilities client’s Enterprise Security Applications team in Charlotte, NC. As a key project resource for the BEAR Enhancements initiative, you will collaborate closely with the Firewall Compliance team to drive operational excellence, data integrity, and continuous improvement. You will play a pivotal role in supporting the health, performance, and reliability of enterprise security applications, delivering secure and high-performing solutions, and ensuring regulatory compliance. WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Monitor and maintain the health, performance, and reliability of the BEAR application


• Design and develop complex software solutions to address business challenges


• Translate ideas into actionable user stories and deliver high-quality outcomes


• Provide insights and solutions to product owners and business users


• Ensure regulatory compliance and apply Human Performance tools during testing and implementation


• Lead design/code reviews and uphold best practices in source control and documentation


• Communicate complex technical concepts clearly across diverse audiences


• Collaborate with the Firewall Compliance team to drive operational excellence and data integrity


• Support and enhance application security in alignment with IT security standards


• Embrace Agile principles and contribute to strong documentation practices


• Manage multiple priorities and user stories in a fast-paced environment


• Utilize SQL, C#, Python, and Angular for application development and data extraction tasks


• Work with RESTful APIs, transactional and denormalized databases, and Kafka as needed


• Demonstrate self-motivation, time management, and organizational skills

WHAT YOU BRING

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field


• 10+ years of experience in application development and support


• Strong communication and interpersonal skills


• Proven problem-solving and analytical abilities


• Experience managing multiple priorities and user stories


• Familiarity with the full application lifecycle


• Solid SQL background; comfortable with DBA tasks and stored procedures


• Proficiency in C#


• Python experience, especially for data extraction tasks


• GUI development experience with Angular; strong JavaScript skills; basic HTML/CSS


• Experience with RESTful APIs


• Familiarity with firewall policies or a networking background


• Experience with Palo Alto or Fortinet firewalls


• Knowledge of Archer platform


• Comfort working with transactional and denormalized databases
