Job summary

Mercedes-Benz USA in Atlanta seeks an Enterprise Technology Architect to own CodeCraft, the NAFTA shared engineering platform. You will define the technology stack, runtime, and developer tooling used by MBUSA, MBFS, and other entities.

This hands-on role involves prototyping Terraform/Terragrunt modules, reviewing platform code, and collaborating with engineers to raise reliability, security, and cost efficiency across a 40-repository ecosystem.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field required.
• 10+ years designing, building, and operating enterprise tech solutions.
• Experience with cloud-native architecture, containers, Kubernetes, microservices, APIs.
• Proficiency in infrastructure as code and GitOps-based delivery in multi-account cloud environments.

Responsibilities

• Own CodeCraft technology reference stack: JVM/Node runtimes, Kubernetes patterns, API gateway, observability stack.
• Architect cloud-native runtime delivery model: Helm charts, GitOps, multi-account segregation across MBUSA/MBFS.
• Design IaC architecture using Terraform/Terragrunt; manage state, environments, and reusable blocks.
• Define developer golden paths and platform SDKs to ensure compliant, easy paths for teams.
• Lead design reviews, participate in governance forums, and record ADRs.
• Ensure platform controls meet enterprise compliance (TISAX/ISO 27001) with traceability.
