Job summary

City of Norwalk seeks a senior network engineer to design, implement, secure, and maintain the City’s enterprise data and voice networks across multiple facilities and remote sites. This on-site role requires hands-on expertise to support mission-critical public safety and municipal operations.

You will lead network projects, optimize infrastructure, and ensure reliability, security, and disaster recovery readiness in collaboration with IT staff, vendors, and City departments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/IT or related field; Master’s preferred.
• At least 8 years of experience in network engineering.
• Experience designing, implementing, and managing complex enterprise networks.
• CCNA preferred; Security+, CISSP and cloud certifications are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, operate, and support high-availability network infrastructure.
• Lead network-related projects, upgrades, and integrations.
• Conduct capacity planning and plan for future growth.
• Ensure security, compliance, and disaster recovery readiness.
• Coordinate with IT staff, vendors, and City departments.
