Job summary

Google Austin, TX is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to join the Global Infrastructure team. The role focuses on designing, implementing, and operating scalable enterprise networks with emphasis on reliability and performance.

You will mentor junior engineers and contribute to feature development across the Google network. Responsibilities include driving automation, coordinating projects, and participating in 24x7 SME on-call coverage.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
• 6 years of experience with network routing protocols, design and troubleshooting.
• Experience with programming languages such as C++, Go, or Python.
• Experience with network technologies/protocols (VXLAN, BGP EVPN, 802.1x, LACP, Encryption, key management, Micro segmentation, ACL).

Responsibilities

• Develop solutions for Google's Enterprise network, qualifying and validating features.
• Scale systems through automation and drive reliability and velocity.
• Participate in 24x7 on-call rotation for SME Tier 3 support as needed.
• Coordinate and lead assigned projects across technical and communication facets.
• Coach and collaborate with peers to achieve common goals.
