Job summary

City of Houston seeks an IT Professional – Infrastructure to design, implement, and operate its network infrastructure including routers, switches and wireless systems. You will work with data centers across Houston, provide on-site or remote diagnoses, and participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation to ensure connectivity and service levels.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in CS/MIS, five years of IT infrastructure experience, and Cisco certifications.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS or a closely related field.
• At least five years of technology experience supporting IT infrastructure including networks, security and hardware.
• System-specific technical certifications are often required.
• Greater than five years of experience may substitute up to two years of the education requirement.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and operate the City of Houston's network infrastructure.
• Install, test, and maintain routers, switches, and wireless infrastructure.
• Provide on-call network support and diagnostics to resolve connectivity issues.
