Job summary

TEKsystems is seeking an experienced AI/ML Platform Engineering leader for a Milwaukee contract-to-hire engagement to unify independent AI initiatives into a governed, scalable enterprise platform. The role blends hands-on platform engineering with strategic leadership, collaborating with data scientists, enterprise architects, and business leaders to set standards, governance, and deployment patterns for GenAI and agentic AI.

On-site, Azure-based, with Kubernetes and CI/CD emphasis.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Platform Engineering, Data Engineering, DevOps, MLOps, or AI Infrastructure.
• Proven track record building and operationalizing enterprise AI/ML platforms.
• Experience deploying and supporting machine learning or generative AI solutions in production environments.
• Strong cloud platform expertise including: Azure (preferred), AWS, GCP.
• Deep understanding of enterprise architecture, automation, and cloud infrastructure.
• Experience supporting highly available, scalable production systems.

Responsibilities

• Design, architect, and implement scalable enterprise AI and machine learning platforms.
• Build end-to-end frameworks supporting: Data ingestion, Model training, Model deployment, Monitoring, Governance, Lifecycle management.
• Establish platform standards and best practices for AI adoption across the enterprise.
• Create reusable infrastructure and deployment patterns to accelerate AI solution delivery.
• Design and implement enterprise‑grade MLOps practices.
• Build CI/CD pipelines for automated deployment and management of ML and GenAI solutions.
• Implement monitoring, alerting, and observability for models, infrastructure, and data pipelines.
• Develop processes to detect model drift, data quality issues, performance degradation, infrastructure bottlenecks.
• Architect AI infrastructure within Azure environments; leverage Kubernetes and cloud‑native services.
• Partner with Data Science teams and business leaders to define future‑state AI capabilities.
