Job summary

SYSCOM, Inc. is seeking a Senior Database Developer for a large-scale modernization initiative supporting a major public sector client. This remote, one-year consulting role focuses on enterprise databases, data integration, ETL pipelines, and reporting solutions.

You will design, develop, and optimize databases, migrations, and data models, with SSIS, Python, PySpark, SSRS, and Power BI. Collaboration with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment and production support are expected.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in database development or data engineering.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain various databases, including stored procedures, indexing, and data models.
• Develop and optimize ETL pipelines and workflows using SSIS, Python, PySpark, and SQL Server.
• Execute large-scale data migrations, including cleansing, validation, and transformation across enterprise systems.
• Build data ingestion and transformation workflows across raw, staging, curated, and analytics layers.
• Build and maintain various reporting solutions using SSRS and PowerBI.
• Design and implement logical and physical data models (ERDs) for various applications.
• Develop stored procedures, views, SQL scripts, and other database components supporting transactional and reporting systems.
• Provide production support, including troubleshooting performance issues and on-call support when needed.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and participate in Agile ceremonies, development activities, code reviews, and release cycles.
• Provide knowledge transfer.
