Job summary

Vanguard is seeking a senior data modeling architect to own the Personal Wealth canonical data model and ensure traceability to implementations across advice, wealth management, and client servicing initiatives.

You will collaborate with Enterprise Data Architecture to design reusable concepts, drive governance, and mentor architects, analysts, and engineers in modern data modeling practices. This role requires strong domain knowledge of US capital markets and enterprise-wide data governance.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in data modeling and architecture.
• Proven ability to define canonical and semantic data models.
• Experience with enterprise data governance and metadata management.

Responsibilities

• Own the Personal Wealth logical and canonical data model and maintain traceability to implementation assets.
• Lead development of canonical models supporting householding, advisor teaming, client relationships, investment offerings, and operational workflows.
• Support strategic initiatives by designing canonical models and abstraction layers that isolate business concepts from vendor schemas.
• Define standards and best practices for conceptual, logical, physical, canonical, and semantic data modeling.
• Establish governance processes for model stewardship, versioning, lifecycle management and change control.
• Collaborate with Enterprise Data Architecture and Engineering teams to implement tooling for model management, metadata management, lineage and governance.
• Mentor architects, analysts, and engineers in modern data modeling practices.
• Support data models used across analytics, regulatory reporting, and AI-enabled experiences.
