Job summary

Versant seeks a Senior Data Modeler to define, evolve, and govern the enterprise North Star Data Model. You will translate business concepts into shared models across Bronze, Silver, and Gold layers of a cloud data platform, enabling cross-domain analytics and AI use cases.

Collaborating with Product, Data Engineering, Analytics, and Governance teams, you will shape canonical entities, data contracts, and metadata standards to ensure consistent, scalable data products across the organization.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in data modeling, data architecture, data engineering, analytics engineering, or related disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Product Managers and domain leaders to turn business outcomes into data-modeling requirements.
• Partner with Data Engineers to define schemas, transformations, mappings, data contracts, and implementation patterns.
• Work with BI developers to create governed semantic models and reusable measures.
• Guide architecture reviews and identify duplication, inconsistent definitions, and data-risk early.
• Provide model patterns, templates, and coaching to enable independent delivery while following standards.
• Define stewardship and decision rights for enterprise entities, metrics, and reference data.
