Job summary

Washington County Public Schools is seeking a Data Architect to drive enterprise data architecture, ETL processes, and reporting solutions. This role provides technical leadership, data governance, and secure data integration across the district.

The candidate will collaborate with stakeholders, vendors, and technology staff to establish standards and ensure systems deliver value while meeting FERPA and privacy requirements. Hybrid work may be available.

Qualifications

• Four-year degree or equivalent work experience in IT or related field.
• 5+ years managing MSSQL/Oracle or equivalent database environments.
• 5+ years ETL development/maintenance experience.
• Proficient with Visual Studio, SSIS, SSRS and SSMS.
• Experience in BI visualization, development, and implementation.
• Strong database architecture and SDLC knowledge.
• Ability to translate requirements from end users and vendors.
• Excellent communication, customer service, and teamwork.
• Willing to work extended hours as needed.

Responsibilities

• Serve as senior technical resource for enterprise database architecture and data integration.
• Lead design reviews and provide architectural direction for complex projects.
• Design, develop, and maintain enterprise databases, schemas, and data models.
• Ensure secure, reliable, scalable data solutions with high availability.
• Translate requirements into secure data integrations including ETL and APIs.
• Establish monitoring, alerts, and data quality controls.
• Collaborate with stakeholders and vendors to ensure data governance and compliance.
• Mentor developers and analysts and provide knowledge transfer.
