Job summary

Oregon State University’s UIT is seeking a Principal Enterprise Architect to lead OSU’s enterprise architecture practice, shaping strategy, advancing standards, and aligning technology investments with institutional priorities. The role supervises Enterprise Architects and partners with business and IT stakeholders to translate needs into secure, scalable solutions.

This full-time, hybrid position on the Corvallis campus requires a bachelor’s degree in a related field and 8+ years in enterprise

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS/IT/Engineering or related field; equivalent education/experience may be substituted.
• Eight or more years of senior enterprise architecture experience.
• Ability to translate complex business requirements into scalable, secure enterprise solutions.
• Expert knowledge of EA principles, frameworks (TOGAF, Zachman) and governance.
• Exceptional communication skills with ability to present to executives.
• Experience supervising and mentoring staff.

Responsibilities

• Maintains the EA practice at the intersection of strategy, business, and IT.
• Collaborates with university leaders to derive business context for EA.
• Identifies resources and cultural changes needed to support EA.
• Works with CTO to design EA organization to drive outcomes.
• Directly supervises Enterprise Architects and coaches the team.
• Ensures EA design drives improved customer service and operations.
• Assesses current state and simplifies OSU IT ecosystem.
• Recommends architectural standards and communicates requirements.
• Develops EA metrics and reports for executives and IT management.
