Job summary

Harris Digital Learning seeks an experienced solutions architect to define a target architecture and sequence for modernization. You will lead the data-layer upgrade, migrate Oracle to PostgreSQL, and stand up the REST API façade with foundational identity, organization, and enrollment services.

You will establish engineering practices, mentor teams, and drive AI-assisted development while ensuring security, accessibility, and quality in a large enterprise environment.

Qualifications

• You have modernized a large legacy system, decomposed a monolith, and migrated the data layer.
• You have strong Java and Spring Boot skills and comfort with a modern frontend stack (Angular/React/TypeScript).
• You understand Oracle and PostgreSQL and their performance implications.
• You have experience owning vendor or SI relationships and defining acceptance criteria.
• You know Azure cloud delivery, CI/CD, IaC, monitoring, and observability.

Responsibilities

• Lead data-layer modernization and oversee Oracle to PostgreSQL conversion.
• Stand up the REST API façade and identity/organization/enrollment foundations.
• Establish engineering practices: CI/CD, code reviews, and tests with low coverage today.
• Recommend the team shape and hiring approach.
• Mentor engineers and contractors; foster AI-assisted development.
