Job summary

Wellmark, Inc. is seeking a senior architect to lead enterprise architecture and guide strategic technology decisions. You will shape roadmaps, oversee governance, and champion modernization across multiple teams, ensuring alignment with business goals and security standards.

You will mentor engineers, influence executive stakeholders, and drive AI-enabled transformation while maintaining a hands-on technical depth. This role requires travel up to 5% and a strong delivery mindset.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
9+ years in security/applications with controls and tools.
4+ years cloud architecture, integration, and system analysis.
Expert knowledge of network protocols and enterprise network architecture.
Experience securing workloads and cloud migrations (AWS/GCP/Azure).
Experience with CASB, SSO, and encryption.
Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases.
Self-starter who leads, communicates clearly, and adapts to change.
Ability to influence stakeholders and mentor others.
Travel up to 5%.

Responsibilities

Define and govern architecture standards, principles, and best practices.
Lead architecture reviews and provide technical leadership across multiple teams.
Develop roadmaps aligned with modernization initiatives.
Establish reusable reference architectures and governance processes.
Evaluate emerging technologies and drive adoption strategies.
Identify opportunities to leverage AI for process improvement.
Design and govern enterprise AI solutions with responsible AI practices.
Facilitate domain discovery and workshops with stakeholders.
Define bounded contexts, aggregates, domain services, and events.
