Job summary

NV5, Inc. in Parsippany, NJ seeks Senior and Principal Engineers to join the Civil Transportation/Roadway Department. Candidates should have 5–10 years of engineering experience, enjoy working in a team, and be capable of supervising engineer and junior staff on NJDOT and county projects.

This multi-discipline design team offers exposure to design, project management, and opportunities for fast-track career growth with a diverse project backlog including TAP and SRTS assignments.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

NV5 has several opportunities for Senior and Principal Engineers to join our Civil Transportation/Roadway Department in our Parsippany, NJ office. We seek motivated candidates with 5 - 10 years of Engineering experience, with a desire to work in a Team environment, and capable of supervising Engineer/Junior Engineer level staff. This position provides the opportunity to be an integral member of a multi-discipline design team, looking for exposure to the various disciplines required for advancing transportation and civil related NJDOT and County projects. Our multi-discipline design team approach will provide the successful candidates the opportunity to pursue a path, focused on technical and/or project management which aligns with their strengths and interest. We currently have a wealth of interesting projects, and given our office current workload and backlog, these positions provide excellent opportunities for fast-track career growth. Our office also has a significant backlog of Transportation Assistance Program (TAP) and Safe Routes to School (SRTS) projects with NJDOT. There are excellent opportunities to provide leadership or support on these assignments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering (BSCE)
• NJ PE License
• Provide technical oversight to engineering staff. The NV5 NJ office has exceptional experienced staff with the desire to train and support Technical Management and/or Project Management career goals of the applicant.
• Preparation of roadway/highway design and plan development. ADA design experience a plus.
• Support the preparation of technical reports and studies, including Concept Development and Final Design Reports.
• Perform condition assessments and inventory of substandard/critical design elements.
• Collaborate with multidiscipline design engineers and technicians.
• Opportunities for involvement in Project Management skills pertaining to project budgets and schedules, and adherence to a project’s scope of work.
• Support Public Outreach tasks.
• Participate in professional organizations and technical societies.

Compensation: $90,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year. Base pay offered for this New Jersey-based role may vary and can be higher or lower depending on the candidate’s job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition to base pay, this position may be eligible for a comprehensive range of medical, financial, and other benefits, depending on the role offered. This disclosure is provided in accordance with New York Senate Bill S1326. Base pay information is determined by market location.
