Job summary

Duke Energy's Brunswick Nuclear Plant in Southport, NC, seeks a Senior Engineering Technologist (Air Operated Valve). This is the fourth level of the non-Engineer degreed technical support role, with independence and leadership in a defined area.

You will analyze problems, prepare reports, mentor others, and support valve maintenance strategies in a nuclear utility setting. The role requires an associate degree in Engineering Technology (Bachelor's preferred) and experience with air operated

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in Engineering Technology or equivalent required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Technology preferred for advanced level.
• Experience with Air Operated Valves, Motor Operated Valves, and I&C systems is highly desirable.

Senior Engineering Technologist provide technical expertise to solve more complex problems, and leadership skills to manage work in a specific area of expertise, with minimal supervision. Incumbents are expected to develop advanced skills and to have the ability to work independently with increased latitude for unreviewed work.**Job Responsibilities*** Provides subject matter technical expertise and guidance in the identification, analysis and resolution of problems in area of expertise.* Ensures accomplishment of business goals and objectives through effective planning, organizing, estimating, scheduling and monitoring of work activities.* Independently prepares thorough and accurate technical reports, correspondence, documentation, calculations and sketches.* Conducts engineering and related studies.* Strives to continually improve job-related, technical and professional knowledge, skills and performance.* Develops positive working relationships to effectively coordinate work activities.
