Job description

Serve as a senior-level technical resource for complex utility design and engineering projects. Provide leadership in technical execution, mentor junior staff, and ensure compliance with standards while driving efficiency and innovation.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform all Designer 2 duties at an advanced level, up to and including the most complex design and analysis tasks.
• Lead development of engineering packages, cost estimates, and conceptual designs for major projects.
• Oversee system upgrades and advanced modeling using AutoCAD, WFM, GIS, and other engineering tools.
• Review and approve designs for accuracy, compliance, and constructability.
• Act as a technical liaison between engineering teams, project managers, and field operations.
• Provide mentorship and training to Designer 1 and Designer 2 staff, fostering technical growth.
• Assist in project scoping, scheduling, budgeting, and quality control for large-scale initiatives.
• Apply expert judgment to resolve technical challenges and optimize design solutions.
