Overview
We are seeking a Designer I to support field and office-based utility design projects. The Designer will collaborate with customers, project managers, and internal teams to design, coordinate, and deliver projects that support energy and infrastructure operations. This position offers a balance of fieldwork and office design, with opportunities to interact directly with customers and contribute to meaningful projects that impact local communities.
Base pay range
$20.00/hr - $23.00/hr
Key Responsibilities
- Manage assigned projects from initiation to completion.
- Communicate with internal and external customers to gather project details and requirements.
- Conduct site visits to collect field data and verify design needs.
- Prepare and revise project designs, layouts, and related documentation using company tools and software.
- Obtain necessary design approvals and coordinate with construction or implementation teams.
- Ensure all designs comply with safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
- Maintain accurate project documentation and communication throughout the project lifecycle.
- Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and customer service teams.
Required Qualifications
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Valid Driver’s License and ability to travel for site visits.
- Technology savvy and comfortable learning new design or mapping tools.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with GIS (Geographic Information Systems) or AutoCAD.
- Understanding of project management processes.
- Familiarity with utility, energy, or construction design environments.
