Senior Engineering Technician – RF & Microwave
Location: East Brunswick, NJ | Onsite, five days per week
Salary: $68,000–$112,000 annually, depending on experience
About the Company
Join an established RF and microwave hardware manufacturer developing amplifiers, integrated radios, and communications solutions for defense, aerospace, unmanned systems, and space applications.
You’ll work closely with an engineering team on hands-on testing and troubleshooting that helps bring new products from prototype into production.
About the Role
We’re looking for a Senior Engineering Technician to support new RF product development through prototype testing, circuit troubleshooting, and test fixture development. This is an opportunity to apply your practical RF skills while expanding your experience with amplifier testing and microwave tuning.
What You’ll Do
- Test RF amplifiers and prototype hardware against engineering requirements.
- Use network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, and RF power meters to measure product performance.
- Interpret test results, investigate failures, and support circuit modifications under engineering guidance.
- Build, test, and evaluate prototype circuits and engineering test fixtures.
- Support microwave tuning and RF transistor characterization.
- Record measurements and maintain accurate test documentation.
- Help develop repeatable test methods and procedures that meet quality requirements.
- Collaborate with engineering, assembly, and production teams to meet project schedules.
What You’ll Bring
- At least three years of relevant hands-on RF or electronics testing experience.
- Practical experience using RF test equipment and interpreting measurements.
- Ability to troubleshoot electronic circuits and communicate findings clearly.
- Experience working in a manufacturing or product development environment.
- Ability to follow technical procedures, maintain accurate records, and manage competing priorities.
- An associate degree in electronics, electrical engineering, computer engineering, or a related field—or strong equivalent practical experience.
- Availability to work onsite in East Brunswick, NJ, five days per week.
Preferred Experience
- Hands-on network analyzer experience.
- RF or microwave amplifier testing.
- Microwave tuning and circuit adjustment.
- Prototype assembly and test fixture development.
- Familiarity with amplifier performance measures such as gain, linearity, EVM, SNR, and output IP3.
- Altium familiarity.
- A bachelor’s degree in a related technical discipline.
Direct amplifier and tuning experience are preferred, but candidates with strong transferable RF bench testing skills are encouraged to apply.
Why Join?
- Contribute directly to new RF products and prototype development.
- Work alongside engineers and see how your testing influences design decisions.
- Gain exposure to hardware supporting demanding defense, aerospace, and space communications applications.
- Enjoy varied hands-on work across testing, troubleshooting, prototype builds, and fixtures.
Benefits
- Medical, dental, vision, and life insurance.
- Paid holidays, vacation, and personal/sick time.
- $4,000 Health Reimbursement Arrangement.
- 401(k) with employer matching.
- Employee Assistance Program.
