Support Critical Space & Defense Electronics Testing as a Sr Engineering Technician for our client Honeywell in Clearwater, FL!

PDS Tech Commercial is seeking an experienced Sr Engineering Technician to perform testing, troubleshooting, and fault isolation on advanced electronic assemblies supporting space and defense applications.

This is a highly hands‑on role involving functional, thermal, dynamic, environmental, and acceptance testing of sophisticated electronic hardware. The ideal candidate has a strong electronics background, enjoys troubleshooting complex systems, and can work closely with engineers and fellow technicians in a fast‑paced laboratory environment.

What You’ll Do

Testing & Integration

• Perform hands‑on testing of advanced electronics assemblies.
• Execute:
• Functional testing
• Dynamic testing
• Thermal testing
• Environmental testing
• Formal acceptance testing
• Support system integration and verification activities.
• Set up, program, and operate specialized test equipment.
• Execute Acceptance Test Procedures (ATPs).

Troubleshooting & Fault Isolation

• Troubleshoot electronic assemblies and test failures.
• Perform fault isolation activities.
• Read schematics and technical documentation.
• Work closely with engineers to resolve hardware and test issues.

Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain detailed test records and logs.
• Follow written procedures precisely and without deviation.
• Create accurate event records, engineering order documentation, and databook entries.
• Provide daily verbal and written shift pass‑down information.

Lab Operations

• Support equipment maintenance and laboratory organization.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety standards.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Handle delicate electronic assemblies and test fixtures with care.

Required Qualifications

• Associate Degree, Technical Degree, or equivalent military training/experience.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in an electronics discipline.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and technical drawings.
• Experience troubleshooting electronic systems.
• Strong computer and technical skills.
• Excellent documentation and communication abilities.
• Strong attention to detail and procedural compliance.

Preferred Qualifications

• Military experience (USAF, USN, or similar).
• Guidance and Navigation electronics experience.
• Environmental testing experience.
• Experience with General Purpose Test Equipment such as:
• Oscilloscopes
• Function Generators
• Digital Multimeters (DMMs)
• Logic Analyzers
• Power Supplies
• Experience supporting aerospace, defense, or military electronics programs.
• Experience performing formal acceptance testing.

Pay Details: $28.85 per hour
