Job summary

Dcubed seeks a Senior Engineering Project Manager to lead a small, fast-paced engineering team in the USA, mentoring engineers across mechanical, electrical and systems disciplines while also performing design/analysis tasks in support of Dcubed technical programs.

The role emphasizes hands-on work on spaceflight hardware, with opportunities to manage external contractors and procurement of hardware. A strong background in CAD/FEA/thermals and mechanisms is highly valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Mechatronics, or Electrical Engineering with at least 7 years experience.
• Experience working on spaceflight hardware, with hands-on experience.
• Past project and/or team management experience.
• A passion for working with small, fast paced teams.
• A technical strength in one or more of the following areas: Mechanical Design & Drafting (CAD – Solidworks preferred), Finite Element Analysis (ANYSYS, NASTRAN, FEMAP, etc), Thermal Analysis (Thermal Desktop preferred), Mechanisms Design & Analysis, Mechatronics Systems

Responsibilities

• Provide project management of a multi-functional technical team supporting Dcubed engineering functions
• Perform design or analysis of structures, mechanisms, or mechatronic systems dependent on your specific strengths or expertise.
• Knowledge of electrical systems and avionics a plus
• Assist with the management of external contractors for engineering services
• Mentor less-senior engineers on engineering and project management topics
• Support hardware procurement including the identification, vetting, and management of new vendors supporting Dcubed engineering projects.
