Job summary

Microchip Technology Inc. seeks an Engineering Planner to coordinate and manage engineering projects, ensure material availability, and support build plans across project teams, PMs, engineering, and supply chain.

You will oversee EOL, dormant items, and BOM structures, while guiding intercompany processes and MBOM updates. The role requires adapting to uncertainty in builds and routing, with a focus on collaboration and timely decisions.

Qualifications

• 9 years direct planning experience or 5 years of experience with a relevant bachelor’s degree or 3 years of experience with a master’s degree.
• Strong negotiation and collaboration skills, with the ability to challenge and refine decisions.
• High-level system knowledge, particularly AX (Dynamics AX), Agile, and business structures.
• Ability to cope with uncertainty, making strategic adjustments where necessary.
• Technical and engineering knowledge, or the ability to develop expertise in relevant areas.
• Effective communication skills, ensuring coordination across production, engineering, and supply chain teams.
• Experience in engineering change management, inventory disposition, and forecasting processes.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage engineering projects, ensuring material availability and supporting build plans.
• Work with project teams, PMs, engineering, and supply chain stakeholders.
• Manage End-of-Life (EOL) and dormant items and oversee BOM structure support.
• Set up intercompany processes and facilitate collaboration across factories/groups.
• Oversee MBOMs with engineering, purchasing, and manufacturing teams.
• Lead engineering change control and ensure timely updates and approvals.
• Support forecasting, risk buys, and predictive inventory management.
• Coordinate sales order confirmation and material disposition with engineering and production needs.
