Job summary

Energy Steel & Supply Co. (ESSC) seeks an Engineering Manager with deep welding, fabrication, and code knowledge to lead project design and shop drawings.

You will supervise welding engineers and technicians, ensure conformance to ASME III, VIII, IX and AWS codes, and coordinate with QA and Sales to drive successful fabrication projects. The role requires a BS degree in mechanical engineering (or related) and a PE license, with at least 10 years of welding engineering leadership in

Qualifications

• Due to Federal Contract requirements, US Citizenship is required for this position.
• BSME or BSWE and 10 years of welding engineering experience.
• Demonstrated ability to supervise technical personnel.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple technical projects.
• Professional Engineer Registration or ability to gain registration.
• Concentration in the nuclear and power generation industries desired.
• Experience establishing Welder Qualification Records (WQR) and preparing Weld Procedure Specifications (WPS) and PQR.
• Ability to read & interpret engineering drawings, standards and specifications.
• Extensive knowledge of ASME Boiler & Pressure Vessel Code Sections III, VIII and IX and AWS Structural Welding Codes.
• Willingness to travel up to 10% annually.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks, MathCad, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and the Internet.

Responsibilities

• Engineering and coordination of projects assigned.
• Supervision of welding and fabrication activities within the Engineering Department.
• Develop, review and release shop drawings for Code projects.
• Coordinate with QA and other departments on project quality.
• Assist Sales with technical welding and fabrication presentations to customers.
• Expedite fabrication activities and manage subcontractors and vendors.
• Maintain Weld Procedure Specifications (WPS) and Qualification Records (WQR).
• Assist in equipment procurement and cost studies.
