Job summary

Bluebeam, Inc. is seeking a senior leader to drive Innovation engineering from discovery to delivery, coordinating across Product and Engineering and unblocking distributed teams. The role requires strong people leadership, a technical foundation, and a track record of translating ambiguity into actionable programs.

You will shape resource planning, budgeting input, and schedules while partnering with senior engineers to advance multi-team initiatives within Bluebeam’s evolving tech landscape.

Qualifications

  • 12+ years of experience in software engineering or related technical roles.
  • Excellent people management skills leading engineering teams across multiple initiatives, systems, and regions.
  • Experience delivering ambiguous, net-new, or innovation focused technical initiatives from concept through execution.
  • Experience partnering with Product and Engineering leadership on resource planning, prioritization, and roadmap or delivery planning.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field.
  • Cloud certificates such as AWS Solutions Architect Associate are a plus.
  • Web development experience (frontend or backend) is highly desired.

  • Unblock teams by removing organizational, technical, and process barriers to accelerate delivery of new technologies.
  • Serve as a primary connection point between Innovation and distributed or acquired engineering teams to integrate efforts and improve cadence.
  • Drive organizational planning for the Innovation function, including resourcing, budget input, and scheduling.
  • Provide technical program and project leadership by coordinating dependencies, monitoring progress, surfacing risks, and ensuring alignment with goals.
  • Demonstrate high emotional intelligence and collaboration across Product, Engineering, and distributed teams.
  • Lead senior technical people by listening, guiding, and enabling the best outcomes without claiming sole credit.

About the Role:
  • Lead Innovation engineering initiatives from discovery through delivery, translating ambiguous opportunities into executable plans, clear ownership, and measurable outcomes.
  • Manage and develop direct-report engineers, including performance management, coaching, career development, and day-to-day support for assigned team members.
  • Partner with Product and Engineering leaders to shape cross-functional initiatives, align priorities, and create practical paths to deliver new capabilities across multiple engineering teams.
  • Unblock teams by identifying organizational, technical, and process barriers and driving collaborative solutions that accelerate delivery of net-new technologies.
  • Serve as a primary connection point between Innovation and distributed or acquired engineering teams, helping integrate efforts, clarify responsibilities, and improve operating cadence.
  • Drive organizational planning for the Innovation function, including resourcing, budget input, initiative prioritization, and realistic schedule development.
  • Provide technical program and project leadership by coordinating dependencies, monitoring progress, surfacing risks, and ensuring initiatives remain aligned to strategic goals.
  • Exceptional people leadership, organizational effectiveness, and cross functional collaboration skills.
  • Strong technical foundation with the ability to quickly understand new technologies, assess tradeoffs, and guide teams through ambiguity.
  • Demonstrated technical project and program management experience, including dependency management, resource planning, and schedule development.
  • High emotional intelligence and the ability to build trust, alignment, and momentum across Product, Engineering, and distributed teams.
  • Humility. Able to lead senior technical people by listening well, bringing out their expertise, and helping the team reach the best outcome without needing to be the smartest person in the room.
  • Strong verbal, written, and executive communication skills, with the ability to convey complex progress and risks in simple, compelling ways.
  • Proven ability to identify blockers early and create practical, collaborative solutions that improve delivery speed and team effectiveness.
  • Experience partnering closely with Product leaders and senior engineers to drive initiatives that span multiple teams and systems.
  • Strong planning skills across budget, staffing, initiative prioritization, and organizational operating rhythms.
  • Experience working with remote, distributed, and acquired teams and helping integrate them into consistent engineering practices and delivery processes.
About You:

Base pay offered will depend upon qualifications and other operational considerations. Base pay is one part of Bluebeam’s Total Rewards program, which seeks to compensate and recognize employees for their work. Most sales positions are eligible for commission under the terms of an applicable commission plan, while most non-sales positions are eligible for a bonus under the terms of an applicable bonus plan. Additionally, Bluebeam provides best-in-class benefits, with 100% employee-covered health and welfare benefits and paid time off. Bluebeam is a growing company with many opportunities.

Salary Range: $182,900 - $251,225 + Annual bonus
