Prattwhitney is seeking an Senior Engineering Manager, Software IPT Lead for the MANTA APNT program, onsite in Cedar Rapids, IA. You will guide the software lifecycle for MAPS, manage IMS/PIPE, and oversee EVM for program delivery while mentoring a 10+ person software team.

Required are a STEM degree with 10+ years of experience or an advanced degree with 7+ years, and the ability to obtain DoD clearance. Agile, embedded C/C++, and leadership are key for success in this role.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) with 10+ years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with 7+ years.
  • Must have or be capable of obtaining a DoD security clearance.
  • Experience with real-time embedded software, Agile processes, and embedded C/C++.
  • Experience with EVM and schedule management.

Senior Engineering Manager, Software IPT Lead – MANTA APNT (Onsite) This position is located onsite in Cedar Rapids, Iowa and is eligible for paid relocation assistance and signing bonus. What You Will Do:
  • Lead the MAPS (Mounted Assured Positioning, Navigation, and Timing System) program team, overseeing all phases of the software engineering lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design, coding, integration, verification, documentation, and formal configuration management.
  • Manage program execution, including Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) and Performance Integration Plan (PIPE) planning, resource allocation, and delivery of customer deliverables.
  • Oversee Earned Value Management (EVM) execution and identify program risks and opportunities.
  • Collaborate with Product Owners to assess and adjust technical performance and staffing needs.
  • Provide day-to-day leadership and development for a team of 10+ software engineers, including coaching, mentoring, performance feedback, and career development.
  • Manage employee onboarding, training, and engagement check-ins to foster a positive and productive work environment.
  • Support the continuous improvement of existing products and processes, driving innovation and efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with software development processes, including Agile methodologies, and contribute to the successful delivery of high- quality navigation products for military applications.
  • Travel domestically as needed to support program and team objectives.
Qualifications You Must Have:
  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree in a related field and a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience.
  • Must have or be capable of obtaining a US Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance.
  • Candidate selected will be subject to a government security investigation/reinstatement and must meet eligibility requirements
  • Experience with software development processes for real-time embedded hardware/software applications, including Agile methodology.
  • Experience with C/C++ or other high-order programming languages in an embedded application environment.
  • Experience with Earned Value Management (EVM) and schedule management.

The salary range for this role is 132,400 USD - 251,600 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills. Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance. The salary range for this role is 132,400 USD - 251,600 USD.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
