Job summary

Nordstrom Inc is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager for the Data Streaming Platform in Seattle. You will lead a distributed team responsible for real-time data pipelines built on Kafka, Temporal, and Airflow, driving architectural decisions and delivery excellence.

You will recruit, mentor, and coach engineers, align OKRs with business goals, and partner with Product and Program Management to deliver high-impact solutions in a hybrid work environment requiring in-office presence at Nordstrom

Qualifications

• BA/BS in Computer Science or closely related degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 10+ years of software engineering industry experience, or similar.
• 5+ years of managing a team.
• Cloud-based, event-driven architecture with distributed systems and streaming data pipelines.
• Proven track record of leading large cross-functional software projects.
• Exceptional customer relationship skills and ability to drive requirements.
• Experience with cloud technologies and full-stack systems (frontend, backend, data engineering, DB, dev-ops, CI/CD).
• Exposure to Kafka, Temporal, Airflow; Java or Python services.
