This role is remote-first with limited travel through August 2025, and employees will work two days per week in our NYC office starting September 2025.

About The Role

We seek a hands-on, highly technical Senior Engineering Manager to lead our Payments & Risk Platform team. You will drive predictable delivery, enhance quality, and establish strong leadership within our global payments and risk infrastructure. Collaborate with stakeholders across various departments to build a reliable, secure, and scalable platform that minimizes fraud and optimizes payment processing.

You will be responsible for fostering a culture of accountability and excellence, ensuring high-quality solutions are delivered on time and within scope. Support your team with resources, clarity, and support to excel.

What You'll Work On

• Drive predictable delivery & quality through clear processes and metrics.
• Develop and execute engineering strategies aligned with business goals.
• Manage stakeholder relationships and facilitate effective communication.
• Build and lead a high-performing, inclusive team.
• Ensure technical excellence, system reliability, and security.
• Manage legacy systems while migrating to modern architectures.
• Ensure security and compliance with PCI DSS, GDPR, and other regulations.

Your Areas of Expertise

• 7+ years in software engineering, focusing on payment platforms.
• 3+ years in engineering management, leading teams.
• 2+ years in Ruby on Rails.
• Proven track record in delivery velocity, quality, and team growth.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Deep understanding of payment processing, fraud detection, and risk management.

Compensation & Benefits

The base pay range is $161,000 - $224,000, with total compensation including bonus and benefits. Final offers depend on experience, qualifications, and location.
