Job summary

Google is seeking a Software Engineering Manager to lead teams across domains including information retrieval, AI, NLP, and distributed systems. You will manage project goals, contribute to product strategy, and help develop engineers while aligning roadmaps and budgets across sites.

At Google, you guide teams, drive architecture decisions, and oversee large-scale deployments, with a focus on delivering impact while collaborating with partners globally.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 5 years of experience with design and architecture; and testing/launching software products.
• Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
• 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role across a large organization.
• Experience bringing a new product or significant feature-set to market.
• Experience with streaming media, ideally live-streamed video at scale.
• Experience with building or building on top of AI foundation models.
• Strong stakeholder management, alignment, and cross-company partnership skills, with experience developing joint product and engineering roadmaps cross-functionally.

Responsibilities

• Set and communicate team priorities that support the organization's goals across teams.
• Align strategy, processes, and decision-making across teams and stakeholders.
• Develop long-term technical goals and roadmaps within and beyond team scope.
• Oversee system designs and review code to solve ambiguous issues.
