Job summary

Google Labs is seeking a Software Engineering Manager to lead multiple teams across information retrieval, AI, and large-scale systems. You will set goals, align engineers, and drive delivery of critical initiatives across Mountain View and partner sites.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
5 years of experience with design and architecture, and testing/launching software products.
Experience owning outcomes and decision making, solving ambiguous problems and influencing stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Set and communicate team priorities that support the organization's goals.
Set expectations with individuals based on their level and role and align to broader goals.
Develop the long-term technical goal and roadmap within, and beyond, the scope of your teams.
Oversee systems designs within the area and review product or system development code.
Drive technical project strategy, lead ML infrastructure optimization, and oversee design across ML areas.
